Seclore SaaS – Fair Usage Policy
Last updated: 10th January 2018
As part of our commitment to providing a high-quality, fast and reliable service, Seclore has a Fair Usage Policy (also referred to as the FUP) for its Software as a Service (SaaS) offering, specifically:
Seclore Policy Server
Seclore Online Viewer
Seclore Online Editor
Seclore Identity Manager
The FUP contains guidelines for customers’ use of the Seclore SaaS products to ensure that each customer has a consistently high-quality experience. Seclore takes measures to ensure usage is within reasonable parameters and in accordance with the license.
Seclore SaaS products offer a multi-tenant service. This means that our products are used concurrently by a number of subscribers. If a single customer places very high demands on the service then it is possible that this will affect the experience for other users.
The vast majority of our customers use their service considerately and their usage levels during peak hours don't disproportionately affect the shared network and service capacity. Even though only a very small number of our customers may use the service inappropriately, their activity has the potential to affect the service for others. Our Fair Use Policy manages inappropriate use and makes sure the service can be used fairly by everyone.
Usage of Seclore SaaS products is monitored on a continuous basis. Only customers that consistently generate exceptionally high load over a sustained period of time will be affected by the Seclore FUP. This is currently defined as per the limits detailed below, although Seclore reserves the right to amend these limits.

Item |
Usage |
|
Average Number of activities per day per protector user (File Protection, File Open) |
<200 |
|
Average number of files viewed in Lite Online, per user per day (Average File Size: 5 MB) |
<50 |
Note : Equivalent Protector license per Integrated component (HotFolder, API, Connector) = 50
Example: Customer has purchased 5 Protector and 1 HFS license. In that case, he has (50+5) = 55 Equivalent Protector license. In this case max usage will be 55x200 = 11000 activities per day.
These are indicative numbers to help select what usage and Protector Licenses are suitable for customer
If their usage is more than the allocated tier, they may experience slowness or in extreme cases a temporary outage.
Seclore SLA for uptime or performance will not be applicable for cases when usage was higher than the allotted tier.
If customer wants/need to move to higher tier, a higher tier price will need to be paid on a pro-rata basis
If a customer repeatedly exceeds this FUP Seclore reserves the right to restrict service or levy charges for excessive usage.
Seclore will notify the customer if usage is exceeding, and if it happens more than twice in a year then we expect the customer to move to the alternative approach mentioned (Refer section 4: Recommendation).
Activity logs older than one year may be archived.
Seclore understands that customers will occasionally have high volumes of traffic outside of normal usage patterns. In those cases where the traffic can be predicted, Seclore requests to be informed with as much notice as possible to ensure that service delivery remains consistently high.
For customers where usage of Seclore Product services is consistently very high and outside of normal usage pattern. Seclore would like to recommend following options for customers to get uninterrupted service. This will incur support and service efforts.
